Kenneth Grahame, "The Wind in the Willows"

Regular readers Poczytajki probably noticed, we are keen to reach for literature for children and adolescents. It was not always interesting. Only studies made me realize what my shortcomings in this area do not know the classics, and you may just not remember? Now the happy catching up "lost time" and from time to time I read something from literature for younger readers, especially that he enjoys not only the spirit, but the eye! So it is just for reading Wind in the Willows .

heroines of this charming tale of four animals: Mole, Rat, Badger and Toad. Mole is an interesting individual of the world, energetic, his friend Rat in turn, the embodiment of wisdom. Badger is a type of adult (or even older) you, a distinguished and caring like a father. Moving spirit throughout the novel is, however, Toad - who is always in a good mood, but cocky and whimsical - which is to move a new passion, absorbing its assets, nerves friends ... and freedom. Toad with such zeal indulges in pleasures, that despite the possible consequences of theft made and goes to prison, trifle!, 20 years old. But this is only the beginning of his adventures ...

Wind in the Willows is a wonderful story about the strength of friendship. Heroes often give testimony during the next person in spite of his weakness. Mole Rat watches over when under the influence of this stranger in the world wants to go, and all three friends Wall becomes a toad, though having committed a crime. I admit that because of the humor is my favorite topic is connected with his person. The rest of the story flowed like a leisurely and romantic sound of the title of willows.

edition illustrated by Kinga Paździurkiewicz very not typical. Simple, black and white illustrations are styled on the classic drawings by Ernest H. Shepard from the original release. The only drawback is the publication interpreter's use of obscure words and the absence of footnotes thereto. I did not know terms like wrzeciądza, guardhouse or Stewed and wonder how to get them to understand the younger reader, because in the first instance be addressed to him is reading.

not without reason that the book was in the canon of classics. Is universal and timeless, and even though the first was published more than 100 years ago, still enjoys and shrugs.
